On Tuesday, March 9th, 2010 Sheriff Stanek received an overwhelming show of support from the delegates of the Hennepin County GOP. Choosing to forgo the balloting process, the 400+ gathered delegates raised their voices in support of their Sheriff! The calls to endorse Sheriff Stanek were calls for continued leadership and vision in advancing public safety in Hennepin County, and it is clear that the Sheriff's leadership has resounded with the Republicans of Hennepin County.

Hope for the City is a non-profit Minnesota-based organization that collects overstock products from top retailers, medical companies and food distributors and donates the items to people in need. Sheriff's deputies are voluntarily distributing Hope for the City's Food For A Day food boxes to individuals and families in crisis in Hennepin County
